Income Guidelines

Check the chart below to see if you qualify. Your income can be from a job, public assistance, or any other source, but it must be stable and ongoing.

These guidelines are derived from HUD’s 2023 housing income guidelines for Pittsburgh’s Metropolitan Statistical Area and are subject to change. Example: If there are four persons in your household with a combined income of $41,040 per year, you may qualify.

You must have a satisfactory credit history, but your credit does not need to be perfect. Before approving you to purchase a home, Habitat Pittsburgh will check to make sure that your recurring monthly debt payments, including your mortgage, do not exceed 41% of your monthly income. Recurring debt includes car payments, credit card payments, personal loans, and student loans. (It does not include utility bills).

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
